Restoring Trust in AISD and the Promise of a quality public education.
uplift Campus Advisory Councils, PTA’s, and district committees.
As a former Student Representative on the District Advisory Council and Bowie Campus Advisory Council, I know the wealth of knowledge communities in AISD provide. As a Trustee, I look forward to attending these meetings, listening to the community, and elevating their work on the dais.
Improve relationships with city and state lawmakers.
AISD shouldn’t have to navigate challenges alone. Our city and state lawmakers need to hear directly from the district about what our schools need and where we need their help. I’ll bring my state-level experience to the role by building relationships with our city and state partners and organizing regular briefings to keep them informed and engaged.
hold district leadership accountable.
The primary responsibility of the Board of Trustees is district oversight, which means holding district leaders accountable, rather than rubber-stamping and making excuses. As a Trustee, I’ll be a watchdog for District 7, not a lapdog.
Protect special education services and accommodations.
As the son of a special education teacher, I grew up in inclusion classrooms; and as an AISD student, I received 504 accommodations for dysgraphia. Disability and neurodivergence are natural parts of the student experience. Protecting special education services and academic accommodations is essential to ensuring all students receive the support they need for success.
Restore funding for basic transportation and facility services.
Students and families deserve clean campuses and reliable transportation. I don’t want any family to question how their student will get to school or how their campus will afford to clean classrooms.
